First brewed in March 1996 for the Algonquin Resort in St. Andrews, New Brunswick. The recipe was developed with the help of the Algonquin’s chef and was originally referred to as “The Algonquin Red”. As there were many other “Algonquin” beers, we changed the name to “Finian Irish Red”. Our Irish friends didn’t like it, so it finally became Picaroons Irish Red.
