NOW HIRING – BREWERS!

JOBS

Northampton Brewing Company, the brewers of Picaroons Traditional Ales, needs brewers to work at our breweries in Saint John and St. Stephen, New Brunswick.   We operate four breweries in New Brunswick, four retail beer stores and two taprooms.  Each location is unique but the Saint John and St. Stephen locations are small, 2.5 HL systems, double-batched to 5 HL unitanks.

Training and brew coordination will come from our Fredericton brewing crew but you must be able to independently produce really, really tasty beer from start to finish.    This includes all of the aspects of cleaning, brewing and keg’ing beer.   We’ll come up with recipes and schedules together, but the whole process of making beer happen is up to you.    You’ll also get to hang about the brewery taproom talking about beer and we’ll use you as our main beer spokesperson for beer at each site.    You’ll be expected to play a PR role.

You should know your way around a brewery by way of some experience on small or large commercial breweries.    This is not home-brewing.   Formal training is not necessary but it is allowed.   Both positions may lead to other opportunities within our company should they arise.

Hours of work are flexible, as required by the beer.   There is no office.   The work environment requires that you get wet, dirty and sweaty.  We offer a standard employee benefit package, a bit of vacation and beer.   We’ll make it worth your while, but you’ll have to justify the salary by being productive and making really, really good beer.  And being nice.

The positions are available immediately and should appeal to brewers of all ages, gender and experience.   You may be brewing on your own and want a second job ( or maybe it`s the third).  I`m okay with that.   You may be working for someone else and looking for a change.   If so, I won`t rob a fellow brewer of an employee without lots of notice, but feel free to apply.    We`ll work out the transition so it takes everyone into consideration.
